French
Learning a modern foreign language is an integral part of the primary school curriculum; it promotes tolerance and builds an understanding of other places. Alongside developing language literacy and fluency, we also ensure that learners are immersed in culture - understanding not just how to communicate but also the aspects of French life that are similar and different to our own.
As the National Curriculum for MFL states, "Learning a foreign language is a liberation from insularity and provides an opening to other cultures. A high-quality languages education should foster pupils’ curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world."
