The School Community

Shipton Bellinger Primary School is at the heart of the village and we consider ourselves to be an integral part of the wider community. Groups of children often explore the village environment as part of their topic work and local visitors share their knowledge of the locality. Several of our neighbours help in the school with gardening, worship and baking. We welcome a wide range of visitors.

We have strong links with the services, including having been adopted by the Local REME BN who help us with hands-on projects in the school and grounds.

Junior children swim at Tidworth Leisure Centre and we belong to the Rural Schools Group where we have links with schools at Kimpton, Appleshaw, Amport, Grateley and Abbots Ann. The Year 6 teacher liaises with John Hanson and Wellington and other secondary schools, and pupils enjoy an induction day prior to their transfer.

We invite outside agencies to work with our children and have links with Andover Rugby Club for tag rugby, Andover Cricket Club and the Mountbatten Sports Partnership. We have a School Sports Co-ordinator who organises events for children both in school and in the wider community.
